Choosing The Best Bluetooth Headset For You

Making a well designed wireless Bluetooth headset is something that is in fact hard to do. A regularly wired headset is not difficult to design, even with a wide variety of styles to choose from.

Wireless Bluetooth headsets may never be quite as small in size or as light in weight compared to wired headsets. The main reason this is so, is because Bluetooth headsets need to include a battery as well as any additional functions. This added size and even weight will affect how each headset is worn in or on your ears.

Factors You May Want To Consider

Comfort Factor:

As of now, there are two main designs for Bluetooth headsets. Some are worn via a loop that is placed around or over the ear. These are typically the styles that are more comfortable, though they may not be quite as secure. The other style includes the Bluetooth headsets that are held in place by pushing it into your ear. These are typically a little less comfortable, but a lot more secure.

Cost Factor:

Obviously the price of a Bluetooth headset is something that you should really consider. But keep in mind that not always are the most expensive headsets necessarily the best

Ergonomic Factor:

  1. You should first see if the design allows for you to easily and efficiently put the device on your ear and take it back off again.
  2. You should determine whether or not the control buttons on the device are easy to function or not.
  3. Whatever headset you are considering should be one that is comfortable enough to withstand extended use for longer phone calls.
  4. Will the headset be able to be used while wearing a pair of glasses?
  5. Can the headset be worn easily on either one of your ears?
  6. You should consider how you will be carrying the device while it is not being worn.
  7. You should also consider the weight of the device. You do not want a headset that will easily fall off because it's too heavy.

Ease of Use Factor:

  1. All of the controls and the commands should be able to be easily remembered.
  2. You should be able to easily adjust the volume whenever you need to.
  3. You should be able to turn the device on quickly.
  4. The device's manual should be written well and easily understood.
  5. The device should come with some type of support phone number that can be called if you ever experience any problems with the use of it.

Features:

  1. You will need to know information about the battery (type of battery, talk time/ standby time, how to determine if it is fully charged or when it is going dead).
  2. You will want to know how many other devices the headset can be paired with.
  3. Compatibility with whatever other devices you may have to pair it with is also important.
  4. Do you know what kind of warranty period the device has?
  5. How good of a range will you have while using the headset?

Other convenient Bluetooth headset features may include last number redial, voice tags, being able to transfer calls, 3-way or conference calling, linking up with other phones, rejecting calls and muting calls. You will also need to evaluate how attractive it looks (if it matters to you) as well as if it is too big or too small for your needs.
